How to choose fairway wood?

Fairway woods is the longest clubs in the bag, they generate the most distance when hit correctly.

Before you choose them, you need know them first. Fairway Woods made from metal and other non-wood materials, like graphite.

Golf Fairway woods come in many ranges. 2-4 Woods—These woods are mainly used as tee-shot alternatives to your golf driver or long irons. They should have a smaller head than your driver and offer a more controllable, shorter tee shot. From the fairways, the small head design makes them easy to get air borne. Most manufactures will offer 2, 3 and 4 woods, also offer a 3+wood and perhaps a 4+wood. The plus symbol simply means that it is a strong 3 or 4 wood. This means the loft on the club is less than a typical 3 or 4 wood, but the head size remains the same. These clubs will offer more distance at a lower height than a typical 3 or 4 wood. 5-11 Woods—The main purpose of this range of fairway woods is to replace and assist the longer irons, and offer an alternative out of the rough.

There are actually many reasons when you going out to buy one. The first reason is that you will have to determine are the club head size, the size of the shaft, the loft, weight and length. You will then be able to find the perfect fairway wood for your price range. The club head has three club head sizes: standard (150-155 cubic centimeters), midsize (195 cubic centimeters) and oversized (195 -250 cubic centimeters). The smaller the club head the easier it is to control but it also has a smaller sweet spot.

The next one to take into consideration is the shaft. The shaft also comes in two materials: stainless steel and graphite. Once again, stainless steel is the best option for people on a budget and they also offer more durability and control over the club. Graphite shafts are lighter and help to provide a swifter swing for speed and power.

The loft is the next important factor to have in mind. The loft is the measure of the angle of the head. As a general rule of thumb, the larger the angle of the loft, the more control you will have over the club, but less ball distance and vice versa with a smaller angle of loft. If you have a slow swing speed (or heavier club factors) you will need a loft angle of 10 to 12 degrees, while faster and lighter clubs need a loft angle of 8 to 10 degrees.

For those who need a faster swing like high handicapped players, it is advisable to purchase a lighter weight club for a swifter swing and longer ball distance. Those golfers who have a swift swing, normally choose heavier clubs so that they have more control over the club. The weight of the fairway club is the last step in fairway wood purchasing. There are 3 lengths: traditional (43-44 in), Mid length (45-46 in) and long (more than 46 in). The shorter the club, the more control you will have.

Well, you've known it well but hopefully this will still work for you. TaylorMade fairway woods are important in this game, you cannot play perfectly without a fairway wood. Good luck on the golf course!

The following fairway wood is very hot on our store. You can choose one with the method I told you.

Mizuno JPX 800 Fairway Wood

The Mizuno JPX 800 Fairway Wood produces tremendous distance by harnessing the power of a "Hot Metal" stainless steel face and Mizuno's Ultimate Dynamic Stability (U.D.S) technology. U.D.S. technology achieves consistently high ball speeds and tighter overall dispersion by greatly increasing stability on both its vertical and horizontal axis. What this means is that shots from anywhere on the face, even outside the sweet area, will maintain the ball speeds to get the ball where you want it to go.

Ping G20 fairway wood

The Ping G20 fairway wood features a large, 17-4 stainless steel head and face, designed to increase the MOI to maintain consistent ball speeds across the hitting surface. Getting the ball airborne and adding yards is what all golfers look for in their fairway wood. With the Ping G20, that is easy. A low-deep CG and external weighting produces a high launch and optimal spin for long, straight results. Face height is optimised in the Ping G20 Fairway Wood to offer a visually appealing, forgiving option from the fairway to tee. Golfers have the option of either the higher-launching TFC 169F or the TFC 169F Tour version for a lower trajectory.
